This university was founded by my brother Dr. Mohammad Masoud Mansouri and myself in 1976.

I urged the citizens of Damghan to support in establishing the first university in their town.

Indeed the honorable and cultured people of Damghan helped greatly, both financially and morally.

Covering a total area of 1,400,000 sqm, today this university is the pride of Damghan, boasting a total of 12 departments and 6500 students, offering degrees up to doctorate levels.

Around 3000 students live at the dormitory facilities.

I am very grateful to the people of Damghan for their help from which i learned one thing; that if people believe in something and commit to it, then the initiators are sincerely interested in creating something that will benefit the community.

For example, when I expressed need for Bricks, within short time we had mountains of bricks without even knowing who was the generous donor.

Even Teachers and taxi drivers provided one day of their salary for the construction of the university building.

During my speeches local house wives provided their personal accessories and jewelries as a donation for the university.

On inauguration day, each visitor brought one pistachio vase to be planted in the garden, resulting in one thousand new trees planted.

On the weekends local high school students planted pistachio trees in the green area of the university and medical doctors contributed their surgery fees to the cause of the university.
